MICT streamlines port transactions with ACTS

Starting 1 October, the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) is requiring port users to facilitate their port transactions using ICTSI’s Advance Customer Transaction System (ACTS).

The transition is part of the Company’s efforts to streamline its services by providing clients with a convenient, efficient and secure platform to process their payments.

Launched in 2016, ACTS allows customers to settle their port charges online and print the required documents to deliver or retrieve their cargo.  The system can be accessed anywhere using a laptop, desktop computer, tablet or smart phone, and is available 24/7.  Customers are required to create an account in order to use ACTS, which offers two modes of payment – online banking and advance depository receipts.

The full transition to ACTS is also in line with the Bureau of Customs, Philippine Ports Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, and Anti-Red Tape Authority Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 Series of 2020 mandating the use of online platforms for filing and processing of permits and transactions, and payment of port dues, taxes, and other related charges.  The contactless process helps prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by eliminating person-to-person transactions between port users and terminal employees.

MICT is closing its billing center as part of the transition to 100 percent digital payments.
