VICT reinforces commitment to protecting Port Phillip Bay

Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) continues to strengthen its environmental stewardship as part of its operations in Port Phillip Bay, an area recognized for its unique biodiversity and clear sea water.

Safeguarding the bay remains central to VICT’s responsibility for its surrounding communities. The terminal has put in place systems to reduce harmful emissions and prevent contaminants from entering local waterways.

Stormwater catchment systems intercept pollutants before they reach the bay, ensuring they are managed and disposed of properly. To support this effort, VICT conducts real-time monitoring and regular National Association of Testing Authorities certified testing to help maintain safe water quality.

These initiatives reflect the VICT’s commitment to integrating sustainable practices with operational needs, reinforcing its role as a responsible partner in the community.
