VICT receives hybrid ACCs

Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) has taken delivery of four Hybrid AutoStrad™ automatic container carriers (ACC) ordered from Kalmar last year. 

Equipped with a hybrid energy recovery system, the ACCs capture and recycle kinetic energy from active container movements to achieve up to 20 percent reduction in energy consumption and measurable carbon dioxide savings across thousands of moves every day. They are also equipped with enhancements jointly developed by Kalmar and VICT engineers, tailored to the terminal’s operations to drive further improvements in automation efficiency and productivity. 

The ACCs are scheduled to be fully operational within the second quarter of the year.
