MICT managers undergo training on effective communication
Managers from the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) recently completed the Talk the Talk: The Art of Effective Communication training – the final course under Phase 1 of the MICT Leadership Development Program. Held on July 10 and 30, the sessions focused on mastering self-management as a foundation for leading others.
The training discussed tools to improve clarity, adapting to different communication styles, and practicing active listening. Through discussions, exercises and real-life scenarios, managers explored their communication styles and how these affect trust, understanding and collaboration across their teams.
Participants highlighted key takeaways, including the mantra “Listen deeply, speak correctly, connect meaningfully.” Many valued the insights on active listening and its role in building stronger relationships, while others noted that the lessons were useful not only in leadership but also in personal interactions.
Concluding phase 1 of the leadership program, the training underscored the importance of effective communication in strengthening leadership presence and fostering lasting influence.
