ICTSI orders hybrid straddle carriers for South Luzon Container Terminal

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has ordered 12 hybrid straddle carriers from Kalmar for the South Luzon Container Terminal (SLCT), its new terminal development at Bauan International Port in Batangas.

Scheduled for delivery by the third quarter of 2027, the equipment will form part of SLCT’s container-handling fleet and support ICTSI’s objective of developing an efficient and more sustainable terminal serving Southern Luzon’s industrial and manufacturing base.

The order includes MyKalmar INSIGHT fleet performance monitoring for all 12 units and a straddle carrier simulator. The simulator will support the training of new operators and allow existing personnel to refresh and further develop their skills.

Located approximately 110 kilometers south of Manila, SLCT is being developed as a major international gateway for Southern Luzon. Upon completion, the terminal will have an 800-meter quay, 38 hectares of yard space and an annual capacity of 1.6 million TEUs.
