H.R.D. strengthens ties with MICT

Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) officials recently met with executives from the HRD Group – MICT’s largest import-export customer, to explore ways to enhance logistics coordination and operational efficiency.

The H.R.D. Group delegation included Takeshi Sato and Koji Kido of H.R.D. Singapore Pte Ltd, along with representatives from the Nihongsangyo team, which oversees shipments to 40 destinations across the H.R.D. network. The group comprises H.R.D. Singapore Pte Ltd, Wu Kong Singapore Pte Ltd, and SCAD Services Pte Ltd.

Spearheaded by Christian L. Lozano, MICT chief executive officer, the meeting focused on ongoing operations and potential improvements in service delivery. He was joined by Jose Carlo S. Javier, MICT terminal director, and Nicolette B. Ong, MICT commercial head.

Following the discussion, the H.R.D. team visited the San Miguel Yamamura (SMY) depot, located beside MICT along the South Access Road. Designated as H.R.D.’s empty container depot, the facility enables efficient trucking through double transactions—where trucks deliver export-laden containers and collect imports in a single trip—and direct empty container withdrawals. Its proximity and streamlined operations help reduce turnaround times and logistics costs, supporting H.R.D.’s growing volume and service needs.

The visit reaffirmed H.R.D.’s strong partnership with MICT and both parties’ commitment to continuous operational alignment.
