Tecon Suape donates to Child Citizen Orchestra

Tecon Suape S.A, as part of its commitment to stakeholders and partner communities, recently donated to the Child Citizen Orchestra in Pernambuco.

The Child Citizen Orchestra is a social project spearheaded by the Citizen Child Benefit Association (ABCC) that aims for social improvement of underprivileged children through music. It serves a total of 400 young individuals between the ages of six and 21, and operates across Pernambuco in Brazil.

In the municipality of Ipojuca, the project benefits 120 vulnerable children and adolescents by conducting music lessons and positive school reinforcement.  These individuals are also given access to psychosocial care and are provided three meals per day.  To qualify for the project, young individuals must be enrolled in public schools and attend classes regularly.

Student beneficiaries of the Child Citizen Orchestra receive lessons in music theory, which include playing string, percussion, and woodwind instruments, and are given the opportunity to become professionals through the Training School of Luthier Archetier, where they learn the art of building and repairing stringed instruments.
