SBITC among top donors to SBMA’s recycling program

Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation (SBITC) has again been recognized as one of the top 10 Subic Bay Freeport locators that participate in the periodic Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) organized by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.

SBITC ranked sixth in the 7th RCE with a total recyclable material donation amounting to PhP6,440.

The award was announced during the virtual opening ceremony of the 8th RCE held last 2 December.

The waste collection activity encourages stakeholders to help keep the freeport clean by turning over their recyclable materials to accredited waste handlers for recovery and upcycling. It also aims to reduce the improper disposal of solid, toxic, and hazardous wastes that could contaminate land and water bodies inside the freeport.

All participating companies donated their proceeds from the event to the ABS CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation to support programs like Bantay Kalikasan, Bantay Bata, and Operation Sagip, among others.

SBITC’s consistent participation in the SBMA’s waste collection and recycling program is one way of giving back to the community. This commitment, along with protecting the environment, will always be one of the Company’s top priorities.
