MICT continues roll-out of employee health and wellness programs

The Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) Health and Wellness Team conducted the second batch of eye examinations under its Libreng Salamin (Free Eyeglasses) program last 8 September.

After two days of eye check-ups, 136 rank and file employees qualified to receive single/double vision, multicoated, anti-radiation, sun protect eyeglasses by the end of the month.  Another round of eye examination is planned soon for the third batch of employees.

Meanwhile, the Hypertension and Diabetes Program now has more than 100 participants, with more expected to join in the coming months. The Health and Wellness Team is looking to include all hypertensive and diabetic employees at MICT before the end of the year.

With the success of the first two health initiatives, the Health and Wellness Team is also launching its Arthritis Program for employees with gouty arthritis and osteoarthritis.  The program will provide free medicines to help employees manage and alleviate their conditions in order to be more productive at work.
