Top ICTSI suppliers honored at 16th ISQA


The 16th ICTSI Supplier Quality Awards (ISQA), held last 11 July at the ICTSI Administration Building, brought together industry leaders and partners to celebrate a common goal: "Empowering Partnership for Sustainable Success."
 
This year's event expanded its scope, welcoming not only suppliers of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) but also those of Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT), Manila North Harbour Port, Inc. (NorthPort), and Subic Bay International Terminals (SBITC).
 
The event commenced with opening remarks from Manuel V. Pascua, ICTSI senior vice president, chief financial officer, and chief risk officer. His words set an encouraging tone for the afternoon, emphasizing the critical role of supplier partnerships in achieving sustainable success.
 
Following Mr. Pascua, Nathan Clarke, ICTSI vice president and head of Global Engineering - Infrastructure and Project Management, delivered the keynote speech. He highlighted the integral functions of Global Engineering and underscored how suppliers can support ICTSI's objectives. He emphasized ICTSI’s core values and shared insights into the company’s Climate Change Initiative, aligning perfectly with the event's theme of empowering partnership for a sustainable future.
 
Mariel Zamora, Global Procurement regional senior director for MICT, PH, and APAC, then detailed the criteria for the awards, ensuring transparency and understanding of the evaluation process.
 
The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of awards to the top suppliers. Thomas Goodwin, MICT director of Engineering; Mr. Reynaldo Mark Cruz, ITSS director; Alver Manjares, MICT Claims senior superintendent; and Myria Hertz Cernechez, MICT Civil Works head, presented the awards for ICTSI. The Supplier of the Year awards were distributed across eight categories: 

  • Direct Materials: Blusky Chemical Trading
  • Indirect Materials: Abenson Ventures, Inc.
  • IT Materials: Syspoint, Inc.
  • Direct Services: Ar-Gos Inspection Services, Inc.
  • Indirect Services: RVV Manpower Services, Inc.
  • IT Services: Universal Access and Systems Solutions, Phil. Inc.
  • Facilities: Asisi Systems Corp.
  • Construction: Seaborne Construction Specialist Co. 

Special awards were also given to suppliers of other terminals, namely:

  • Generation Forklift Co. for MMT
  • United Bearing Industrial Corp. for NorthPort
  • United Power Rentals, Inc. for SBITC

The event concluded with closing remarks from Damien Huppert, ICTSI vice president and head of Procurement. He highlighted the significant contributions of all suppliers, emphasizing the historic nature of this event as the first time ICTSI invited other terminals to recognize their suppliers as well. He reinforced the importance of continuing collaboration to drive future success.
 
The 16th ICTSI Supplier Quality Awards served as a tribute to the power of strategic partnerships and their role in achieving sustainable growth. It was an afternoon of recognition, inspiration, and shared commitment to excellence.
