In the spirt of Eid al-Adha, BGT gives back to local community

A BGT employee shares lamb meat with a young resident of the local community

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated yearly worldwide. An important part of the holiday is the distribution of meat, particularly among the less fortunate in society.

In the spirit of Eid al-Adha, Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT) employees committed time outside of their work hours to prepare and distribute meat packs among the locals. The activity served as a simple yet meaningful way for BGT personnel to give back to the Umm Qasr community.

“BGT has a long tradition of active engagement in the local community. This employee-driven initiative makes us realize how simple acts can make a huge difference in the lives of those around us. The positivity and team spirit surrounding the initiative are some of the best that we can share aside from material things during times like this,” said Romeo Salvador, BGT chief executive officer.
