SCIPSI celebrates 50 years

South Cotabato Integrated Port Services Inc. (SCIPSI) celebrated its 50th year of operation at the Port of General Santos, marking five decades of service and contribution to Mindanao’s maritime trade.
“This golden anniversary was not only a celebration of our past but also a reaffirmation of our vision for the future,” said Gabriel Muñasque, SCIPSI general manager. “We owe this milestone to the dedication of our employees, the trust of our partners, and the support of our stakeholders.”
SCIPSI began as a merger of seven cargo-handling contractors at Makar Wharf, formed in line with a Bureau of Customs directive to consolidate port services under a single operator. Over time, the company evolved from a local consortium into a major logistics partner in the region.
Its focus on quality and safety earned SCIPSI the distinction of being the first cargo handling operator in the Visayas and Mindanao to receive ISO certification in 2004. The company strengthened its capabilities further in 2008 when ICTSI acquired a controlling stake, integrating SCIPSI into its global operations.
As it looks ahead to the next 50 years, SCIPSI is committed to supporting trade and development in General Santos and nearby areas. It continues to enhance its services, invest in innovation, and build stronger partnerships to meet the changing demands of the industry.
