Pilot shipment validates potential of Rio-Minas corridor
Midea, one of the world’s largest home appliance manufacturers, has completed its pilot shipment through the multimodal logistics corridor linking Rio de Janeiro and Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais.
The route connects Rio Brasil Terminal, Terminal Multimodal iTracker Suzano, and CLIA Pouso Alegre. MRS Logística handled the railway transport, while COSCO Shipping managed the international maritime leg.
The successful pilot operation demonstrates how multimodal resources reduce costs, shorten transit times, and support carbon-neutral initiatives. By combining seaport, rail and inland logistics, the Rio-Minas corridor strengthens efforts to modernize Brazil’s logistics chain and expand integrated, sustainable transport solutions.
