OPC, ICTSI reaffirm confidence in Honduras and continue strategic investment plan


Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC), a company under the ICTSI Group and concessionaire of the Specialized Container and General Cargo Terminal at Puerto Cortés, reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of logistics infrastructure and the economic development of Honduras and the region.

As part of the implementation of its expansion and modernization plan, OPC maintains its decision to carry out strategic investments aimed at increasing operational capacity, incorporating state-of-the-art technology, and strengthening the competitiveness of Puerto Cortés as one of the region’s leading logistics hubs.

OPC and ICTSI value the ongoing dialogue and institutional coordination with the Government of the Republic of Honduras, as well as the initiatives focused on economic stabilization and investment attraction, which are currently helping create favorable conditions for the continued advancement of strategic infrastructure and logistics development projects in the country.

Likewise, the continuation of OPC’s announced 2026 investment plan, amounting to US$100 million, reflects the company’s confidence in Honduras’ economic and logistics potential, as well as in the conditions that support stability, trade facilitation, and long-term investment attraction. The investment plan includes, among other components:

  • Expansion of the container and general cargo terminal
  • Expansion and optimization of yards and operational spaces
  • Incorporation of new port equipment and technology
  • Strengthening logistics capacity to respond to the growth of regional trade

This process is being carried out within the framework of the Trust for the structuring, development, and financing of the operation of the Specialized Container and General Cargo Terminal at Puerto Cortés, highlighting the importance of coordination and technical and financial support that enable the planned and transparent advancement of strategic port infrastructure projects.
