Nigerian Transport Minister visits OMT

Nigerian Minister of Transport Mu’azu Jaji Sambo visited Onne Multipurpose Terminal (OMT) on 1 September as part of his official visit to the Onne Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone.

Jacob Gulmann, OMT managing director, accompanied the honorable minister on a tour of OMT’s facilities and highlighted the progress since International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) took over the terminal area back in 2020. He expressed ICTSI’s gratitude to the Ministry of Transport and Nigeria Ports Authority for entrusting the management of such an important state asset to the company. 

Minister Sambo expressed his satisfaction with ICTSI’s investments and operational achievements, and confirmed the Nigerian Government’s continuing commitment to support ICTSI investments in the country.

OMT also had the honor and pleasure of welcoming other dignitaries including His Royal Highness Dr. Nasiru Ado Bayero, Emir of Bichi; His Excellency Alhaji Farouk Aliyu Adamu, former minority leader of the Federal House of Representatives; and Muhammed Bello-Koko, Nigeria Ports Authority managing director, during the visit.
