MMT strengthens collaboration with Philippine Ship Agents Association


 

Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) leadership met with officers of the Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA) on June 2 to discuss shared industry best practices and operational guidelines.

The meeting centered on opportunities to optimize terminal operations, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce safety protocols across port and shipping activities. Participants exchanged insights on current operational practices and explored ways to streamline processes, improve coordination, and strengthen collaboration among terminal operators and industry stakeholders. The meeting also highlighted the importance of adopting proactive measures that support seamless port operations and ensure the highest standards of safety and service delivery.

Present during the meeting were PSAA directors Anthony Calingo, Virginia Madlang-awa, Alfred Hernandez, Joel Ilagan, Philip Buñag, Ricardo Jamandre, and Dan Alampay.

Mikkel Puyat, MMT chief executive officer, welcomed PSAA’s participation and valuable insights on trends and challenges within the shipping and logistics industry. He emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders to support the advancement of terminal services and address the evolving needs of the maritime sector. He noted that strong partnerships and regular engagement are critical to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions to industry concerns.

Aside from Puyat, MMT attendees included Kevin Randall, senior operations advisor; Lee Charles Wilson, health, safety and environment advisor; and Geraldine Santos, commercial head.

The meeting reflects the terminal’s commitment to foster strong industry partnerships and support initiatives that promote operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
