MMT partners with DOLE on livelihood program

Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), launched the Integrated Livelihood Program (ILP) last September 24.

Also known as the Kabuhayan Program, ILP promotes economic independence and supports employee welfare by providing opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills and creating viable business ventures. This mostly benefits minimum wage earners, providing them with resources to supplement their income and improve their quality of life.

The ILP offers an assistance package that includes seed capital to start or expand small businesses, entrepreneurship and business management training, and mentorship to ensure the sustainability of livelihood projects.

Mikkel Puyat, MMT chief executive officer, reiterated the company’s commitment to employee development and well-being: “Our responsibility extends beyond the confines of the workplace. Through this partnership with DOLE, we are empowering our employees to create a more secure future for themselves and their families by pursuing sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.”

This collaboration reflects MMT’s commitment to corporate social responsibility while supporting DOLE’s efforts to alleviate poverty through livelihood promotion and job creation. Together, MMT and DOLE foster inclusive growth and long-term socio-economic impact.
