MMT enhances employee experience with new holding area

Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) recently turned over a newly developed holding area to the MHCPSI-Union officers, marking another step in efforts to improve the working environment of MMT personnel.

The holding area consists of four 40-foot modular container units fitted with comfort/wash rooms. A space for employees waiting to begin their shift, it also offers a clean and comfortable place for staff to eat, rest and recharge during breaks. 

“This is just one of the many steps we are taking to enhance our employees’ experience. We want our facilities to reflect the respect and importance we place on the people who keep our operations moving,” said Mikkel Puyat, MMT chief executive officer. 

To enhance accessibility, MMT added a covered walkway to protect employees from the elements as they move around the terminal or wait for shuttle buses. This supports both safety and convenience, especially during heavy rain or intense heat.
