MICT launches fire safety initiatives for March

Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) is marking Fire Prevention Month this March with a renewed focus on protecting its workforce, operations and facilities.

Aligned with the Bureau of Fire Protection’s nationwide campaign, the terminal is rolling out several initiatives to strengthen emergency preparedness. Guided by the new HSE head and company leadership, the programs aim to increase fire safety awareness across all departments.

Activities scheduled throughout the month include fire drill relays to assess response coordination, refresher toolbox talks on updated fire procedures, and a full restructuring of the Emergency Response Team to improve readiness.  As the campaign begins, employees are encouraged to join activities and stay alert to potential fire hazards.

MICT said fire prevention requires shared responsibility and continued leadership support and regular training helps maintain a workplace where safety is a primary concern.
