MICT holds wire rope seminar
Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) held a wire rope seminar on October 14 to reinforce safe lifting practices and equipment reliability across terminal operations.
Wire Rope Corp. of the Philippines led the session, with Mandy Inocentes, Vice President, and Leomar Bonza, Technical Superintendent, discussing wire rope specifications, selection criteria, maintenance practices and retirement standards. The seminar provided practical guidance on managing equipment used in cargo-handling and lifting operations.
Participants also joined a site visit to Orsons Trading, Inc., where they observed wire rope products, lifting equipment and related industrial applications.
The program emphasized the role of proper wire rope selection, inspection and maintenance in reducing operational risks, improving equipment reliability and supporting safe cargo-handling activities across the terminal.
