MICT handles LNG-powered ship

Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) welcomed the inaugural call of the 7,900-TEU LNG-powered CMA CGM Palmyre last July, highlighting the terminal’s capability to service larger vessels as it continues to improve infrastructure for growing trade requirements.

Measuring 272 meters long, the container vessel operates a direct route connecting Brazil, Port Klang, Manila, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong and Nansha. It runs on liquefied petroleum gas (LNG) in line with the shipping industry’s continued adoption of lower emission fuel technologies. 

For its part, the MICT continues to advance sustainability initiatives, including investments in hybrid equipment, in line with the ICTSI Group’s net-zero commitment for 2050.
