Matadi Gateway Terminal (MGT) was recently conferred the 2026 National Model Employer Award by the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Presented during the inaugural edition of the national initiative, the award recognizes MGT’s commitment to responsible working conditions, skills development and recognizing employees’ contributions.

This commitment includes the establishment of the MGT Young Leaders Academy in 2025. For its first year, the academy welcomed 33 learners, supporting young graduates as they enter the workforce and promoting women’s leadership in the port and logistics sector.

By placing people at the center of its development, MGT continues to recognize the role of human capital in establishing sustainable performance.
