Matadi Gateway Terminal (MGT) made history on August 23 with the successful staging of the MGT Marathon 2025, the first major sporting event in Kongo Central and the city of Matadi.
The inaugural event gathered more than 500 runners comprising MGT employees and local residents, drawing thousands of supporters who created a lively atmosphere from start to finish. Participants competed in 12-kilometer and 21-kilometer courses, testing their endurance while promoting solidarity, perseverance, and community spirit.
The race was officially flagged off by the Mayor of Matadi, underscoring the significance of the occasion for the city. Its success was made possible thanks to volunteers, strong public support, and contributions of sponsors and partners: Rawbank, Groupe Ledya, Connexafrica, Office Congolais de Contrôle (OCC), Orange RDC, Africa Dream Sport Management, Kewipa, Cosmos Group RDC, and Afrikinterim.
