KMT launches Safety Guardian program

Mechane (center), KMT's first ever safety guardian, is honored for contributing to KMT's culture of safety.

Kribi Multipurpose Terminal (KMT) recently launched its Safety Guardian program, an initiative that recognizes employees for identifying and reporting potential hazards leading to incident prevention and a safer working environment.

Each month, one safety guardian is recognized for vigilance and commitment to workplace safety.

The program’s first recipient, Mechane, identified and promptly reported an electrical issue during a routine inspection. The potential hazard was addressed before becoming a risk to employees.

Safety guardians receive a token of appreciation that they can share with their familes.

The program forms part of KMT’s commitment to encouraging employees to be active in identifying hazards and promoting a workplace culture where safety is a shared responsibility.
