IF, VCT uplift communities in Iloilo
The ICTSI Foundation and Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) carried out back-to-back community programs in Iloilo City on November 26 and 27, supporting vulnerable groups in the port’s surrounding communities.
IF and VCT, together with the Rotary Club of Central Iloilo District, held a medical outreach for indigent residents of Barangay Ingore, VCT’s host community. More than 200 residents received free consultations, medicines, vitamins, hygiene kits, and hot meals.
The partners also launched the Christmas Wish Tree project, where VCT employees granted the wishes of 120 children with special needs, and those who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are in conflict with the law. The beneficiaries came from institutions under the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office’s Crisis Intervention Center, TAWAG Project Resource Center, and Balay Dalayunan.
In addition to individual gifts, IF and VCT supported each center’s programs by providing essential items including a 50-inch smart TV, laptops, printers, learning materials, a washing machine, a gas range with oven, cookware, and new mattresses and pillows.
