IF, MCT launch SNED project
The ICTSI Foundation (IF) and Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) broke ground on June 4 for two Special Needs Education classrooms at Tagoloan Central School in Misamis Oriental.
The project, under Project ABLE Spaces (Access, Belonging, Learning and Empowerment), will provide 80 SNED learners with classrooms equipped with specialized furniture and learning tools.
The classrooms also support the school’s broader student population of about 3,500 and complement a school building donated by the foundation in 2018.
Filipina Laurena, ICTSI Foundation executive director; Aurelio Garcia, MCT general manager; and Gemma Gloria, MCT terminal manager, led the ceremony with representatives from the Department of Education, the Tagoloan local government and the school community.
