IF honors community partners


 

The ICTSI Foundation recognized community volunteers and partner organizations during its third Frontliner-Partners Appreciation Night on June 19 at La Castellana in Intramuros, Manila with the theme, “Bayan, Bayani, Bayanihan.”

The gathering recognized volunteers from partner and beneficiary groups, including Don Bosco Youth Center–Tondo, Rosauro Almario Elementary School–Isla Puting Bato and Parola Annexes, Barangay 20 and Barangay 275 daycare centers, and the Parola EcoPatrols.

Filipina Laurena, ICTSI Foundation executive director, highlighted the role of community partners in delivering the foundation’s programs across ICTSI host communities in Manila.

The foundation also presented the Gawad Bayani awards to individuals whose work reflects the Foundation’s community development priorities. 

Alvin Espejo received the Gawad Bayani ng Kabataan for mentoring out-of-school youth and supporting values formation programs. Marianita Luces, an EcoPatrol volunteer for 13 years, received the Gawad Bayani ng Kalikasan for environmental monitoring and solid waste management awareness efforts in Parola. John Carter Quilop was named Gawad Bayani ng Pamayanan for leading relief initiatives alongside his work as a technical-vocational trainer.

Fr. Sylvestre Casaclang, SDB, outgoing Don Bosco training director and administrator, received the Gawad Lingkod Bayan for his contributions to Don Bosco programs benefiting the youth, community and environment.

The event also featured performances by community partners showcasing Filipino music and dance.

The activity reinforced the foundation’s partnership with community stakeholders in Manila.
