ICTSI shares ESG journey at confab

International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) recently participated in the Manila Bulletin Sustainability Forum 2024, sharing with corporates and students some insights on the company’s sustainability reporting journey.

Atty. Lirene Mora, ICTSI vice president for Global Corporate Legal Affairs, detailed the learning experiences the company faced while developing its initial sustainability report. These included addressing the complexities of ICTSI’s global operations, aligning with diverse compliance systems across various locations, and meeting stringent disclosure standards.

Atty. Mora underscored the importance of a robust governance framework in driving Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. She highlighted the critical role of leadership—from the Board of Directors to the Global Sustainability Team and individual terminals—and recognized the contributions of external partners in ensuring the timely and accurate submission of the Securities and Exchange Commission-mandated report.

At the forum, Manila Bulletin, the country’s largest English-language broadsheet by circulation, commended ICTSI for its commitment to decarbonization and its community welfare projects.

ICTSI was recognized for its efforts on decarbonization and community development during the closing ceremony of the Manila Bulletin Sustainability Forum 2024. Atty. Lirene Mora (fifth from right) received the award.
