ICTSI holds cyber libel symposium

The Global Corporate Legal Affairs (GCLA) department, in partnership with the Global Corporate Information Technology (GCIT) team, concluded its month-long Cyber Libel Awareness Campaign with a symposium on October 16, 2025.

Launched in observance of National Law Month, the campaign featured a four-part newsletter series that educated employees on the legal aspects of online communication and responsible digital behavior.

The culminating symposium, titled “Tech Trends, AI, and Online Harms: A Legal View for Women and Children,” gathered nearly 200 participants onsite at the NorthPort Corporate Office and via livestream.

Atty. Lirene Mora, ICTSI vice president for Global Corporate Legal Affairs, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of digital responsibility.

The keynote speaker, Atty. Jewel dela Cruz, a specialist in children’s rights and international law, discussed the global online landscape, legal implications of online harms affecting women and children, and the need for responsive legal frameworks. She also led a question-and-answer session with participants.

Brian Hibbert, ICTSI vice president and chief information officer, closed the symposium by highlighting the shared responsibility of all employees in maintaining a safe and respectful digital environment.
