ICTSI Foundation, RAFI turn over Batangas tree project

The ICTSI Foundation (IF) and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) turned over their tree-growing project to farmer-beneficiaries in the municipalities of Balayan and Tuy, Batangas.
The turnover marked the start of the farmers’ stewardship of 45,150 trees planted across 90.3 hectares of farmland over the project’s three-year implementation. Officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Batangas reaffirmed their support for the participating communities.
The project brought together 12 community organizations and 227 farmers through partnerships with the Center for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development, the local and provincial governments of Batangas, and field offices of the DENR and DA.
This year, IF and RAFI expanded their collaboration through a Mangrove Growing Project in Lian and San Luis, Batangas, covering 2.5 hectares with 25,000 mangrove seedlings.
The partnership between IF and RAFI reflects their continuing commitment to environmental protection and community development.
