The ICTSI Foundation opened a newly renovated lecture hall at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, marking the foundation’s first project focused on higher education.
The facility is expected to serve about 14,000 students and 900 faculty members, providing an upgraded venue for lectures, collaborative learning and other academic activities.
The opening was led by Filipina Laurena, ICTSI Foundation executive director, and Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso, Manila mayor, who cited the role of public‑private partnerships in improving learning facilities in state universities.
Domagoso said the new lecture hall will support students by providing improved learning spaces and access to enhanced classroom resources. He also toured the facility, which includes upgraded audio‑visual systems and classroom technology.
Laurena said the project reflects the foundation’s support for youth development and community programs in Manila, where International Container Terminal Services Inc. operates its flagship Manila International Container Terminal.
Implemented in partnership with the university, the project involved renovating the lecture hall and upgrading equipment, cooling systems, seating, lighting and acoustics to improve the learning environment.
