ICTSI Breakbulk Group strengthens IT focus

The ICTSI Bulk and Breakbulk Focus Group (IBFG) is strengthening its IT capabilities after holding two productive sessions on August 28 and 29.

The sessions centered on leveraging technology to improve operations.

The group also welcomed Visayas Container Terminal as the newest member alongside representatives from Global HR.

Sebastiano Cerneka, Global IT operations technology head, presented an overview of leading breakbulk terminal operating systems, comparing their strengths and limitations to help determine which solutions best fit varying terminal sizes and operational needs. Participants then engaged in an open forum to clarify points and share insights.

Brian Hibbert, ICTSI vice president and chief information officer, underscored the importance of collaboration in shaping IT strategy. He noted that a collective approach enables the group to better assess technology needs and secure the most suitable enterprise-level solutions. Hibbert also reaffirmed Global IT’s commitment to guide and support the IBFG’s initiatives.
