International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) participated in the regional sustainability dialogue at the Southeast Asia Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx) Summit held from October 1 to 2 in Bangkok, Thailand.
John Joseph Ilagan, ICTSI environmental manager under Global Corporate Engineering, joined the panel Building Trust: Credible Claims, Stakeholder Buy-In, and Supplier Engagement, which focused on strengthening the credibility of corporate sustainability initiatives through transparent data, supplier collaboration, and consistent communication.
Ilagan emphasized the value of using verified and transparent data to back decarbonization efforts and build trust among stakeholders. He noted that legal compliance alone is no longer enough and that companies must demonstrate measurable progress aligned with recognized global standards.
The dialogue also highlighted the shift from compliance-based reporting to evidence-driven sustainability performance, stressing the importance of data assurance, transparency, and alignment with frameworks such as the GHG Protocol and IFRS.
The dialogue also addressed emerging topics including renewable energy transitions, carbon markets and credit integrity, and the role of partnerships in accelerating the path to net zero. Participants shared insights on how companies across Southeast Asia integrate technology, investment, and supply chain management to advance decarbonization goals.
