Heart Health Day at AGCT: A commitment to employee well-being

Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) proudly marked its third consecutive Heart Health Day on April 9. The initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular health and promoting a healthy lifestyle among employees.

This year’s Heart Health Day featured a variety of activities aimed at heart disease prevention and early detection, including free blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, as well as educational sessions focused on essential heart-healthy habits like not smoking, embracing balanced nutrition, staying physically active, and regularly monitoring vital health indicators.

“The wellbeing of our employees is of utmost importance. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death globally, and Heart Health Day gives us an opportunity to increase awareness and remind our teams that small lifestyle changes – how we eat and drink, how we move, and how we manage stress – can make a significant difference in our health, quality of life, and longevity,” explained Emmanuel Papagiannakis, AGCT chief executive officer.

As heart failure becomes increasing manageable through early detection and advanced treatment options, collective awareness and proactive actions remain key to improving long-term care and outcomes. Together, we continue to promote a culture of good health because prevention is the strongest beat in the rhythm of a healthy life.
