Contecon Manzanillo (CMSA) donated MXN 2.8 million in proceeds from the 8th CONTECON Race for a Cause, held in 2025 to fund infrastructure projects, equipment, and improvements of 20 schools across Manzanillo, directly benefiting 6,545 students.
The projects were carried out between February and August 2026, according to the specific needs of each beneficiary institution. Improvements included the installation and renovation of covered areas, dining facilities, entrance structures, and perimeter fencing, as well as lighting upgrades and the installation of sound equipment and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems.
The handover ceremony, held on September 30, was attended by José Antonio Contreras, CMSA, chief executive officer; and Juan Carlos Salas, CMSA human resources director, along with representatives from sponsoring companies, teachers, and students.
Through the Race for a Cause, CMSA brings together runners, families, businesses, and the local community to support education and provide better learning environments for children and young people. Proceeds from each race are directed toward projects that address the specific infrastructure and equipment needs of beneficiary institutions.
Since the launch of the initiative, more than 20,000 students have benefited from its projects, highlighting its continued contribution to education in Manzanillo. CMSA aims to continue the initiative, supporting further improvements to educational facilities and learning environments.
