Contecon Guayaquil offers sole on-site ECD in Ecuador

Contecon Guayaquil continues to consolidate its position as a leader in port services by being the only terminal in Ecuador with an empty container depot (ECD) within its facilities. A part of the Contecon Plus portfolio, the ECD service addresses the diverse needs of both national and international clients while optimizing the handling of dry and refrigerated containers.

To support this service, Contecon Guayaquil has designated an exclusive 11-hectare area for the ECD – the largest in the country. Through this facility, Contecon offers an array of services including container inspection to ensure the integrity and optimal condition of every unit; container washing using a specialized infrastructure for efficient and safe cleaning; container repairs to extend container lifespan and functionality; receiving and dispatch, which leverages streamlined processes for inbound and outbound movements to reduce operational times; and shift-based coordination that uses a coordinated dispatch system to minimize congestion and enhance operational flow.
