Contecon Guayaquil cited for sustainable operations

Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA) received an environmental recognition from Jungheinrich for adopting more sustainable operating practices.

The recognition follows the company’s use of rental electric forklifts from Jungheinrich, which reduces carbon emissions and supports efficient, more cleaner operations.

Beyond the operational and environmental benefits, the use of electric forklifts is linked to the reforestation program led by Jungheinrich Ecuador and Planet Alliance Foundation. The project “Oxygen for the Future” covers the Kapari Natural Reserve. CGSA’s deployment of six electric forklifts contributed to the planting of 37 native trees in the Chocó Andino.

The program also includes a dedicated system and funding for irrigation, continuous maintenance and long-term care to ensure the trees can fully grow to maximize long-term environmental impact.
