Construction has officially started on Guayaquil’s fifth bridge, a new infrastructure project designed to improve freight connectivity between Ecuador’s main highway network and the city’s port district.
Martín Moreda, Contecon Guayaquil operations director, represented the port sector at the launch ceremony together with national authorities and other industry representatives.
The bridge will provide a dedicate route for freight traffic, helping improve cargo movement, reduce road congestion and support more efficient import and export operations. The project forms part of Ecuador’s long-term infrastructure plans to strengthen supply chains and trade connectivity.
Contecon Guayaquil’s participation in the project reflects its support for infrastructure developments that facilitate trade movement between Ecuador and international markets.
