CMSA spearheads Cuyutlán reforestation

Contecon Manzanillo recently conducted mangrove reforestation activities in Cuyutlán Lagoon as part of its efforts supporting the restoration of Colima’s coastal ecosystems.

Employees, environmental authorities, members of the educational community and stakeholders participated in the activities, planting mangroves in one of the most important lagoon systems in the state.

The initiative forms part of a broad six-hectare reforestation project, which includes the planting of approximately 16,250 mangroves and the rehabilitation of an ecosystem critical to biodiversity, coastal protection and environmental balance in the region.

Mangroves play an important role in supporting marine life, protecting shorelines, improving water quality and sustaining local livelihoods such as fishing.

Through initiatives like this, CMSA integrate environmental stewardship into its operations while supporting long-term sustainability of surrounding communities and ecosystems.
