A three-student team from Colima supported by Contecon Manzanillo won silver medals at the 2026 International Greenwich Olympiad held June 13-20 in London, United Kingdom.

Mateo Alejandro Árcega Vélez, Kohelette Alyne Sánchez Figueroa and Kevin López Almaraz, students from Escuela Secundaria No. 12 del SNTE 39 "Talentos," earned the opportunity to represent Mexico in the international competition through their academic performance and teamwork. They joined other students from around the world in developing, presenting and defending STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) research or innovation projects before an international panel of judges.

Francisco Santana, CMSA HSS & CSR manager, highlighted the students’ achievement and the importance of investing in education: “We recognize the effort, discipline, and dedication these students have demonstrated to reach this milestone. Representing Mexico and winning an award in an international competition is the result of years of hard work, learning and perseverance.”

“We are proud to support young people who inspire through their talent and who reflect the tremendous potential that exists in Colima. We firmly believe that investing in education is investing in the future of our communities,” he added.
