CGSA sustains Ecuador’s trade flow amid operational pressure
Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA) maintained stable operations despite mobility restrictions and increased pressure on the logistics chain.
A curfew restricting vehicle movement from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. introduced operational constraints across the supply chain. In response, the terminal adjusted shift planning, optimized operational windows and concentrated productivity during permitted hours to help steer vessel handling and cargo flow.
With these adjustments, the terminal absorbed and smoothly handled additional vessel calls and higher-than-usual cargo volumes driven by increased demand from shipping lines seeking regional capacity and operational flexibility. Core terminal operations and service levels remained uninterrupted and stable.
More than just a short-term operational response, CGSA’s actions demonstrate the terminal’s resilience, flexibility and commitment to keeping Ecuador connected to global trade when the market needs it most.
