Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA) overcame a challenging business environment in 2024 and delivered the best performance across the ICTSI Group in 2025. The Group’s Ecuadorian business unit was recognized along with other top performers during the annual ICTS Chairman’s Cup awarding ceremony on March 10.

CGSA demonstrated resilience and strategic discipline to accomplish its operational targets and surpass other terminals in the Group in terms of operating leverage, improved efficiency and cost reductions per TEU, among other metrics.

This year’s Chairman’s Cup introduced a new format, recognizing top-performing terminals per region. Onne Multipurpose Terminal in Nigeria emerged as the terminal of the year for Europe, Middle East and Africa; Contecon Manzanillo in Mexico for the Americas, and Manila International Container Terminal in the Philippines for Asia. NorthPort, another Philippine terminal, was also given a special citation for budget accuracy.

The annual Chairman’s Cup is a tradition that honors the top performing business units of the ICTSI Group.
