Building leadership capability at Matadi Gateway Terminal
The ICTSI Global Academy (IGA) conducted a leadership development program at Matadi Gateway Terminal (MGT) in Matadi, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The initiative began with a Train‑the‑Trainer course led by Marge Cuadera, IGA head, and Pamela Jeanne San Jose, IGA trainer, preparing selected MGT leaders to deliver the Academy’s programs locally.
MGT trainers Joel Badjoko, Igor Mbiso Mbeku, Jean de Dieu Lubasu, Nancy Lumanji and Sephora Muteb Kon A Makap completed the course. The IGA team and Timothée Jeannin, MGT managing director, also paid a courtesy visit to Dominique Nkodia Mbete, Mayor of Matadi.
From Feb. 2 to 6, newly trained MGT instructors, supported by IGA, facilitated the Driving Performance Program for 18 supervisors and frontline leaders, with materials translated into French. Participants strengthened core leadership skills and identified actions to improve productivity and safety.
The program reinforces ongoing collaboration between IGA and MGT to develop local talent and build leadership capability across the operation.
