BICT supports Georgia International Maritime Forum 2026

Jacob Gulmann, ICTSI Europe, the Middle East and Africa regional director

Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) was a strong supporter of the Georgia International Maritime Forum (GIMF) 2026 in September, backing the development of Georgia’s maritime sector and its role in international trade.

Hosted by the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the forum brought together more than 400 delegates from over 40 countries, including government officials, maritime and logistics industry leaders, international organizations, academics, and shipping professionals.

With the theme “Where Seas Meet Corridors,” the forum focused on regional cooperation, shared maritime challenges, and the development of sustainable and internationally connected trade routes.

Jacob Gulmann, ICTSI EMEA regional business development director, spoke at the panel discussion “From Seas to Corridors: The New Geography of Global Trade,” sharing industry perspectives on evolving trade routes, regional connectivity, and the growing importance of maritime corridors.

Through its sponsorship and participation, BICT supported dialogue and cooperation among government, industry, and international maritime stakeholders, including discussions on the Middle Corridor and wider Black Sea trade routes.
