BGT automates general cargo, ro-ro workflows

Basra Gateway Terminal, as part of continuing digital transformation, is transitioning general cargo and roll-on, roll-off operations into a fully automated workflow using the N4 terminal operating system. The project is a major step to improve operational efficiency, accuracy and overall execution control of general cargo and roll-on, roll-off operations.

The implementation began with a comprehensive documentation and process collection phase, where workflows were reviewed, mapped and aligned with N4 system requirements. This ensured that operational realities were fully captured and that the automation would support field execution without disruption. A computerized manifest was developed, tested and validated to serve as a structured data input for the system. 

The project is now live, marking the shift to the automated system within N4 and enabling real-time data capture, reduced human error, enhanced visibility and improved reporting capabilities.
