AGCT sets new vessel exchange, rail connectivity records

Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) recorded its highest vessel exchange of 2026 and set a new all-time record for rail connectivity from a single vessel call during the recent arrival of CMA CGM EUGENIE.

AGCT performed a total of 3,580 moves, representing 6,622 TEUs during the call. Operations also generated 21 block trains bound for key markets across Central Europe, including Hungary, Slovakia and Austria. Additional rail services will serve other regional markets.

The records reflect AGCT’s ability to handle significant vessel exchanges while connecting cargo efficiently with its rail network serving Central and Southeastern Europe.

With a length of 366 meters and nominal capacity of 16,188 TEUs, CMA CGM EUGENIE is deployed on the Ocean Alliance MED 5 service, which provides a regular weekly connection between the Far East and the Adriatic. The service brings together CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping Lines, OOCL and Evergreen Line.

Built in 2025, CMA CGM EUGENIE is equipped to use methanol as an alternative fuel, reflecting the ongoing evolution of the global container fleet towards alternative fuels.
