SBITC moves Terminal Operating System into Azure

Subic Bay International Terminals (SBITC) has migrated its terminal operating system to the Microsoft Azure Cloud.

As part of a strategic partnership between ICTSI and Microsoft, SBITC now benefits from increased performance, security, and critical system monitoring services.  This includes real-time backup and mirroring to co-located Azure zones with preset failover, ensuring that even in the event of a disaster in one datacenter, SBITC will continue to receive system services.

Built into these services are continuous data streaming into the ICTSI data platform, enabling other digital services.  The first of these is data integration with the TradeLens Blockchain platform.

SBITC now offers a level of IT service that matches and in some cases exceeds, the most sophisticated container terminals in the world.

“We have entered into a long term partnership with Microsoft that extends way beyond buying cloud infrastructure,” says Brian Hibbert, ICTSI CIO.

He continues:  “The infrastructure is essential but only the foundation.  We are working in many areas together including data analytics, digital platform services, API delivery and web and mobile applications for customers.  This is the beginning of a very exciting journey that is all designed to ensure SBITC and all of our terminals offer great digital experiences to our customers.”
